My name is Joanna, I’m French (& Polish!) – 29 years old – and I’ve been living in Brussels since September 2012. I work for a French regional representation and I love travelling to wild places all over the world.
1) What’s your favourite park to run in Brussels and why?
Forêt de Soignes and Bois de la Cambre are definitely my favourite places ! Actually, I don’t really appreciate running “in circles” and do prefer to follow unexpected tracks, a bit far away from the city (urban trails? why not…).
2) What’s your motivation when your legs hurt to continue training?
Well…I grit my teeth and repeat to myself that it’s all about mental strength. And since we are mostly running together, my husband is never too far (behind!!) to cheer me up !
3) What’s needed to have a thriving social community in a city (such as Hêbê)?
It is very stimulating to train together in a good atmosphere with different personnalities and levels and where there’s no pressure. We support each other with constant pinch of humour !
4) Why have you decided to run for the Red Cross?
I deeply share the values of humanity, neutrality, impartiality of the Red Cross, values that today’s world is terribly lacking sometimes… It is thus quite naturally that I commit myself to this nice collective initiative.
I’ll run 20km in Brussels on 28 May and I need your support for the Red Cross activities: http://20km.redcross.be/projects/hebe-cool-runnings-goes-red
