Hi! My name is Guillaume, an enthusiast 29-years old French (& Breton) guy! I work at Samsung Electronics and have been living in Brussels since 2012.
1) What’s your favourite park to run in Brussels and why?
The closest park to my place is not really a “park” but Bois de la Cambre. I’m not really into parks.. My favourite place to run in Brussels is Forêt de Soignes, right by the ADEPS centre: just follow the tracks, 5, 10 or 20Km !!
2) What’s your motivation when your legs hurt to continue training?
My only thought in such a case is: “wow you’ve already been that far, why stop now?” (both in terms of distance and progress made. Exactly a year ago my main achievement was 10K, since then I have finished 3 half-marathons and a couple of short trails). Then, your body follows your mind…
3) What’s needed to have a thriving social community in a city (such as Hêbê)?
The people.. and new ideas! Hêbê is the perfect combination of both.
4) Why have you decided to run for the Red Cross?
I’ve decided to run for the Red Cross because I donated blood and thought this time I could also donate a bit of my time and sweat for a cause I believe in. I also like the idea of doing something nice in a group of cool runners!
I’ll run 20km in Brussels on 28 May and I need your support for the Red Cross activities: http://20km.redcross.be/projects/hebe-cool-runnings-goes-red
